Phillip D. Suiter, digiChart President and CEO

Phil Suiter, president and CEO of digiChart, Inc., is a successful entrepreneur and investor with more than 25 years of experience founding, leading and growing healthcare and information technology businesses. Before joining digiChart, Mr. Suiter was president and CEO of Transaction Tracking Technologies, a privately held transaction processor. Healthcare businesses Mr. Suiter has founded or led include Gordian Health Solutions, Stinger Medical, NotifyMD, Medical Properties of America, Vivra Specialty Partners and Medstat/Inforum. He also has held leadership roles at Vanderbilt University, most recently as director of strategic projects for VUMC’s Department of Medicine and earlier at Vanderbilt’s Center for Better Health and Office of Technology Transfer. He is a graduate of Murray State University.

G. William Bates, M.D., M.B.A., digiChart Chairman of the Board

Bill Bates is the founder of digiChart and serves as the company’s chairman of the board. He is also a clinical professor of obstetrics and gynecology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Prior to founding digiChart, Dr. Bates was a professor of obstetrics and gynecology and the dean of the College of Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina at Charleston. Dr. Bates was executive vice president and chief medical officer of PrincipalCare Inc., a company that acquired and managed OB-GYN practices in metropolitan areas. Dr. Bates received his medical degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He also holds the degree of master of business administration with an emphasis on health care administration from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Julie Maples, CPA, digiChart Vice President of Finance

As vice president of finance, Julie Maples is responsible for directing all aspects of finance and accounting for digiChart. She joined digiChart as controller in 1998 and was promoted to vice president of finance in 2003. Before joining digiChart, Ms. Maples was regional controller for Gambro Healthcare. Prior to that, she was director of accounting for InterSYS, a computer integration and consulting company. She also served as senior accountant for Ren Corporation. Ms. Maples received her B.S. from Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green in 1991, and fulfilled her experience requirement during her tenure with Ren Corporation before passing the CPA exam in 1994.

Stephen Faris, digiChart Chief Technology Officer

Stephen Faris is responsible for digiChart’s information technology, overseeing the company’s product development and technical operations teams. Joining digiChart in 2010, Mr. Faris brings an extensive background delivering innovative products and applications, particularly with Software as a Service technology (SaaS). Previously, he served as chief technology officer for HealthGate Data Corporation, leading all technical facets of the company, including product planning, software design and development, quality assurance, IT infrastructure, and Web hosting. He holds a bachelor of engineering degree from Vanderbilt University.
